Hello, Pete, sorry to bother you with this query about tuning boxes...I am about to buy, 2nd-hand, the 2009 production model of the 45bhp Smart fourtwo coupe CDI Pure (Common Rail 0.8 ltr). On learning that Mercedes have retuned the 2010 model to give 20% more bhp, I researched tuning boxes and came up with a sophisticated one that is not supposed to invalidate the warranty and can theoretically produce up to 35% more bhp. It is the Speedhawk Diesel Tuning Box, found at www.bhpplus.co.uk and recommended by them for the "FourTwo 0.8 CDI 45bhp CR-3" (my model). Would you approve of fitting this to my Smart, and do you know anyone who has reported good, poor or disastrous results from fitting this device? The price, £325, seems well worth it, if it raises my car's performance to equal the 2010 CDI's, or even surpass it. Thank you for your expert consideration - from George, "Stargazer" (from SGZ, my reg no).
