Hey, The site is absolutly brilliant, but it does feel at times that only 5 people regually use it...
What do you have in mind, that you think will keep people activly on Destination smart?

When i first found out about this place, I thought brilliant, this is like facebook but for smart car owners.
I told all my friends, and they told their friends about this place and everything was fine and dandy for about 3 days max, It was quite busy, which is what we want.

Unfortunatly it has gone quite quiet... As i said, it just feels like only 5 people use this place...

The News section is fantastic, I love to find out more on whats happening in the smart world, maybe a bit more than i should know...hehe. So the news is top-notch. God job on keeping us updated.

The polls are good fun, I love polls... So must have more of them...

Basically all i am asking really at the moment is that this site had more people using it... It would make it so much better.

Then maybe go the whole bag with the facebook idea and add smart applications... that you can download.. Or pictures/ wallpapers that people can download or use for their screensavers etc...

If possible you could have a smart car vertual pet on here that people could visit each day... That might make people more interested in this place... something to keep them comming back... and loads more ideas.

The issue with traffic on this site is down to the fact its official. Simple. I prefer the presentation on this site compared to the other two forums I've just joined, this is far more user friendly.

If I was to ask a question on here like "how do I change my rear driving light" I'd half expect to get a "go to your dealer" response on here rather than on an independent site I'd get a link to a photo guide, maybe even a youtube video showing me how (only an example!). Its that mentality you have to get passed about being worried to ask questions about cars in front of 'teacher'.

But this site has its merits, like keeping owners informed of changes in smart land quicker than the independent sites (you'd hope). Maybe if this site was part of the owner hand over pack? Stick a nice flyer in the car, or a rear view hanger informing people of the site. Maybe send out a window sticker for each person that signs up. Use this for dealer reminders or communications rather than traditional mailers. Also, add some official suppliers or recommended suppliers of insurance etc? If dealers do tyre fitting (as most do) lets have information on offers or costs on here. Accessories shop/or link to existing? Get each dealer signed up as mandatory part of requirements?

You won't stop people referring to the indi forums, but you could increase the USP of this site by playing on the fact it is the official site.

I agree with everything on your whole post; but these two ideas where also exactly what I was thinking! I want to see more wallpapers and screen savers, my old Smart Roadster one I have on a old press CD doesn't work on my new 64-bit OS computer! And I just love the idea of a pet Smart. lol These ideas would certainly get people visiting more regularly!

The news section on here, like you said, is fantastic, and updated very well, it's the main thing at the moment that keeps me coming back on here every day. But over all, looking past these things, this site is great.

I agree with you all too! It would be good to see more people using the site. Maybe if there were competitions, offers, freebees and defo a Smart Accessories online shop! I do like adding personal touches inside my smart things that get people talking!

I am a new driver with a brand new smart, and I know none of you experienced drivers would use it but Id love to see a page full of tips/advice on secrets of good safe driving keeping safe etc. Oh and how to master the art of parking in every situation!

Iv also noticed that a few non Smart drivers dont give us the same respect on the roads as other cars, some of them drive like we are invisible or want to undertake/overtake us even if we are driving well and to the speed limit! Its like 'just cause Im small...I can't go faster' But I can and I do but those idiots just wont let me shine and respect my size and capabilities!

I agree with everyones comments it is a great site but needs more quality traffic, perhaps window stickers or other prom material. I so agree with you about the on-line shop. Its was also nice to read that I am not the only one that people seem to want to risk life and limb to get past, I thought it was just me. Worst case so far was being run onto the hard shoulder by a large mobile home driver.
